The Plan
This platform is built on a base of logic.
Recognizing our community's pitfalls and positives, applying fiscal responsibility instead of spending without foresight, and giving residents a clear view of what happens between council and administration are all paramount to making our community a place we're all proud to make home.
Working together, we can get there.
The Economic Chain
MORE DISPOSABLE INCOME → MORE LOCAL SPENDING → HEALTHIER BUSINESSES →
MORE JOBS → STRONGER COMMERCIAL AREAS → BROADER, MORE RESILIENT
COMMUNITY
Affordability
Nearly half our population can't afford a one-bedroom apartment, one-quarter of our families are food insecure, taxes are consistently increased yearly with almost invisible returns, and the average resident is one emergency away from missing a housing payment.
Reconnecting our Community
When Chatham-Kent amalgamated, promises were made.
Communities that once had proud, individual identities have been subjected to decisions made by people who work for Chatham - not their town.
Transparency and Simplicity
Budget reports and proposals shouldn't be on the average citizen's summer reading list. There should be clear, concise communication provided from our administration and council, delivered in a way residents can understand.
